What is the BOSS Oil Water Separator?

In what Applications can the BOSS Separator be used?
While the primary use for the BOSS system is still bilge oily water separation, the BOSS unit can be used in any application where oil and water need separating. The simplicity of the system and it's flexibility have made it popular in applications from compressor oil to car/truck wash to large platforms and FPSO's and everything in between.

Do I have to provide exact specs or can you help me with specifications that will meet my needs?
You may provide us with exact specifications for your proposed separator and we will be happy to provide a bid. Or if you call our expert staff we can help you design the specifications that will work for your application.

What if I need a different size than the 5 sizes you offer?
The standard separator ranges from 2-45 gpm. These are the units we stock and sell the most. We can however, easily design a different size and propose a solution to much larger applications.

How does this separator handle emulsified oil?
Emulsified oil can be separated in the BOSS system by applying various pre and post separation treatments and filtering. The standard IMO MEPC 107(49) certified unit comes standard with a post filter that will remove emulsions. Many other applications also include the need for filters.

Just how much motion can these units handle and still operate effectively?
The BOSS oily water separators were designed to handle motion and vibration on ships and will continue to operate even at a 30 degree tilt. These are rugged, well built units that can stand up to all kinds of harsh environments.
