Captain George Sutton PMS 385

Sutton is a native of New Roads, Louisiana, who graduated from Southern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation, he served as Auxiliaries and ASW Officer in USS Harry W. Hill (DD-986) from 1987 to 1990. CAPT Sutton received a Master of Science Degree in Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School. CAPT Sutton reported to Supervisor of Shipbuilding, New Orleans, as LPD 17 Class Test Officer. There he was responsible for the development, planning and execution of factory and integrated test programs for the lead ship. In March 2004, CAPT Sutton was assigned as Officer-In-Charge and T-AKE Program Manager’s Representative at Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Bath, Maine, Detachment San Diego. During this tour, he led the successful delivery of the lead ship of the class, USNS Lewis and Clark (T-AKE 1). In June 2007, Captain Sutton assumed his current duties as Program Manager for Strategic and Theater Sealift program Management Office (PMS 385) |
